Projects Abroad, Shark Conservation Project
Pacific Harbour, Suva, Fiji
May - July 2015
Whilst working as an Artist in Residence, I had the opportunity to work with Volunteer Researchers to come up with creative ideas for waste processing at the property. Due to the lack of recycling and waste disposal services in Fiji, much of the rubbish accumulated there is either burnt or finds its way out to sea.
We formed sculptural totems, useable vessels and murals using waste items such as shoes, tin food cans and bottle caps.
