Expanded Gaze, 2016
An exhibition with Betra Fraval
Expanded Gaze is a cohesive exhibition of work by Melbourne based artists Betra Fraval and Ben Taranto. Using painting and sculpture, it reduces the gap between between deep space and the earth surface. Placing the viewer in the centre of this distance and time, the works challenge perceptions of existence, and highlight current human impacts on the planet and the future effects of these actions. The exhibition title is borrowed from the title of an artwork by Melbourne artist Jasmin Targett.
This exhibition is held upon the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation.
